Honoring our local culture and heritage is central to the Coal River Group's mission of preserving the watershed.
We love to show off the beauty of our rivers and the artistic talents of our members. Each year the Coal River Group hosts a photography contest. The Big Coal River Heritage Festival, which takes place every last Saturday in September, also showcases local arts and crafts and honors the artistic tradition throughout the watershed.
